Enjoy music, dancing and Mooncakes at the Chinese Mooncake Festival from 7-9 p.m. at the southwest corner of Monon & Main Street.  The event celebrates the city’s Chinese community and includes food and live entertainment, while also honoring Carmel’s sister city Xiangyang City in China. The festival is presented by IU Health North Hospital and Carmel-Xiangyang Sister City Committee.

The Great Frame Up will feature an open house and show opening titled “Indiana Noir,” a series of Indiana black and white photos by local photographer Maureen S. Kaveney.  Kaveney started her career in photography in 2003, and received her Bachelor’s degree from Ball State.  She continued her studies in photography at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California where she graduated with honors in the spring of 2012.

Inspire Studio Gallery will have nationally acclaimed, Naperville, Illinois based artist Tom Lynch.  Lynch has been referred to as one of the nation’s premier watercolorists, has written 7 books and hosted several award winning PBS TV Art Series. He recently taught a four-day workshop at Inspire Studio and fell in love with the gallery and the Carmel Arts & Design District.

Galleries and artists affiliated with the Indiana Design Center (at 200 S. Range Line Rd.) will showcase their work from 5:30-7:30 pm., and participating showrooms will be open with artistic exhibits for guests to enjoy.  The IDC will also host refreshments and entertainment that range from live music presented by The Warehouse to “meet the artist” or watch live artists paint in a pop-up gallery at Corporate Fine Art Group.  Convenient above and underground parking makes the IDC a great starting point for visitors to the Gallery Walk.
