Zionsville, Whitestown land battle heading to Indiana Supreme Court

The Indiana Supreme Court is scheduled to hear oral arguments Sept. 23 regarding the reorganization of Perry Township with Zionsville.

Voters in Zionsville and Perry Township approved the reorganization in November 2014, but Whitestown filed a lawsuit claiming the merger wasn’t valid because the two entities didn’t touch each other.

The Boone County Superior Court sided with Whitestown, but the Indiana Court of Appeals ruled in Zionsville’s favor in June. Soon after, Whitestown petitioned the Indiana Supreme Court to accept the case.
