A new traffic pattern will be put into place on or after Wednesday, July 15, along Illinois Street between 106th and 103rd Street as part of the Illinois Street extension project. The change will aid with the construction of the roundabout at 106th and Illinois and the Indiana Department of Transportation’s U.S. 31 project.
The new pattern will merge both north and southbound lanes of Illinois Street into the existing northbound Illinois Street lanes. By executing this traffic adjustment, construction crews should be able to remove entirely or reduce the 15-day full closure on Illinois Street needed to connect the new Illinois Street alignment with the existing Illinois Street alignment.
