Noblesville IMPD officer commits suicide at home


Around 8:17 p.m. June 21, officers from the Noblesville Police Department responded to the address of 15722 Chapel Park Drive East in Noblesville based off of reports of a person threatening to harm themselves. Officers arrived on the scene a short time later and begin to investigate.

Upon investigation, officers located Robert “Keith” McCauley, 49, of Noblesville, in the backyard of the residence and attempted to communicate with him. A few moments later, officers reported that the individual took his life as a result of a gunshot wound.

McCauley had been a police officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department since 2005.
