For the next three days, Noblesville will play host to some of the best collegiate male golfers in the nation. The Sagamore Club, 10900 Golden Bear Way, is one of six regional sites participating in the 2015 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships.
The 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 14 through 16. Noblesville’s regional, which is hosted by Ball State University, has 14 teams (including Alabama the 2014 NCAA DI men’s golf national champion) and five individuals not on those teams. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals. The finals will be conducted May 29 through June 3 at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla.
“We graciously welcome all of our out-of-town guests and wish each golfer the best of luck in their pursuit of college golf’s greatest trophy,” said Noblesville Mayor John Ditslear. “Noblesville is home to a number of exceptional private and public golf courses and we are proud to showcase The Sagamore Club as one of six regional sites across the nation.”
Teams participating in Noblesville’s regional are: University of Illinois; University of Oregon; University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA); University of Alabama; Southern Methodist University; University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV); Virginia Tech; Georgia Southern University; University of Colorado; New Mexico State University; East Carolina University; Marquette University; Alabama State University; and University of Pennsylvania.
Individuals include: Chris Selfridge, University of Toledo; Jose Montano, Xavier University; Evan Bowser, Oakland University; Jose Pablo Segurola, Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis; and Johnny Watts, Ball State University.
