The Carmel Arts & Design District is holding a weeklong Easter Egg scavenger hunt that will run from March 28and will last until April 5.

Participants can explore the Carmel Arts and Design District to find painted Easter eggs to win prizes, such as a giant Easter basket filled with candy and goodies or an oversized Easter egg hand-painted by an artist.

Families can go to Auntie Em’s Frozen Custard and Cupcakes, at 111 W. Main Street, to find a list of Faberge eggs to be found, all of which have been painted by local artists from ArtSplash Gallery, located in the district.

Participating egg artists include Anna Afshar, Laura Liotti, Lynne Medsker, Nancy Keating and Bob Shade.

Scavenger hunters will peer into storefront windows to locate the giant eggs that have been specially painted by local artists. When all the eggs are found, participants head back to Auntie Em’s to pick up their prizes. Two big Easter baskets will be ready for two special winners.

Stephanie Marshall, special events coordinator for Carmel, described the event as, “something low key and just fun to do with your kids.”
