Daniel F. Edwards Jr., 84, of Noblesville, died Feb. 10, 2015 at IU Health North Hospital in Carmel. Born Jan. 8, 1931 in Millstadt, Ill., he was the son of Daniel and Mae (Holcumbrink) Edwards.

He proudly served his country as an officer in the United States Air Force. He was a navigator and aircraft performance engineer aboard the B-36 Peacemaker as part of the Strategic Air Command. For more than 30 years he worked as an engineer for the Dept. of Veteran’s Affairs in several states. He also worked as an engineer for Pacific Architects & Engineers, Inc. in Germany and Greece. He was a published poet, having written “Orange Snows” in 1972. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors, and loved Greece.

Survivors include his son, Daniel F. Edwards III; wife of 27 years, Maria S. Edwards; sister, Rosemary Bevirt; and nieces and nephews, Cherie, Susie and David. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 7:30 p.m. Feb. 17 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Rd., Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 5 p.m. The Rev. Stanley R. Sutton will officiate. A graveside service with military rites will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 18 at Crown Hill Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis. Online condolences may be made at www.randallroberts.com.
