The Indiana State Police is asking motorists to seek alternate routes for travel on I-65 northbound in the area of I-465 on the south side of Indianapolis. Due to overnight construction, traffic on I-65 northbound is backed up from County Line Road to I-465, approximately 7 miles. As of right now, any traffic on I-65 northbound or southbound is not able to access I-465 either direction. I-465 is also very congested in both directions at I-65. At this time it is unknown when all lanes will be open. ISP is working diligently with the construction company to attempt to alleviate the congestion.
Police ask for everyone to please reduce speed in the construction areas, and pay close attention to signs and lane shifts.
