Westfield Lions CLue inducts four new members

On Nov. 6, the Westfield Lions Club inducted four new members to the local service organization: Susan Clark, Don Collins, Al Fennewald and Randy Picek. The Westfield club now comprises 45 members, up nine from last year. It is open to men and women interested in making a difference in the Westfield community.

The Lions’ motto is “We Serve” and the Westfield Lions Club has lived up to it. For 84 years, the club has donated funds for local, national and international disaster relief; provided free eye exams and glasses for Westfield school students in need; awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to Westfield High School seniors; helped fund leader dog training; donated thousands of pairs of used eyeglasses; provided financial donations to the Westfield Heart & Soul Clinic, Open Doors Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels and numerous other charities.

Lions Clubs International is the largest service club organization in the world. Its 1.35 million members in more than 46,000 clubs are serving communities in 207 countries and geographical areas around the globe. Since 1917, Lions clubs have aided the blind and visually impaired, championed youth initiatives and strengthened local communities through hands-on service and humanitarian projects.
