CIW-COM-Border Wars

The Westfield third grade boys’ football consists of 24 players in this “All Star” program. The team competes in a Border Wars tournament against other local teams from Fishers, Carmel, Lebanon, Brownsburg, Perry Meridian and others.

The team started practicing in mid-September and played two warm up games: against a WYSI fourth-grade team and the other against the Noblesville third-grade All Stars, winning both. The Border Wars tournament was held during three weekends, culminating in the championship on Nov. 1. In pool play, the Shamrocks defeated a combined Fishers/HSE team and then Lebanon, giving up only one touchdown on a kick return. In the semi-finals, Westfield faced a tough Lebanon team but shut them out. In the finals, the Rocks beat Perry Meridian 19-0. This is the first Westfield All Star team to win the Border Wars tournament. The team is coached by Don DeCraene.
