Senior Mtg.

ZCHS Principal Tim East spoke with ZCHS seniors during the senior convocation last Wednesday about their upcoming commencement in June.  The seniors also had the opportunity to listen to several guest speakers to prepare them with the skill sets in college. The speakers included Officer D.J. Schoeff who spoke about building positive relationships, YMCA representatives who explained the Five Levels of College Leadership, and a Herff Jones representative who spoke about commencement needs.

PSAT

ZCHS freshmen, sophomores, and juniors took the Preliminary SAT (PSAT) last Wednesday.  This gave the students an opportunity to practice for the SAT college admission exam.  In addition, this provided juniors the opportunity to qualify for National Merit Scholarships.  The primary purpose of the PSAT is to provide exposure to the format and questions on the SAT.  They also gain information about college readiness, identify how they scored compared with others for college admission purposes , and receive information from colleges based on their results.

Mole Day 2 (1)

ZCHS students from chemistry classes celebrated Mole Day by creating videos, displays, and treats related to this holiday.  Mole Day is celebrated each year on October 23rd  to commemorate Avogadro’s Number.  This event is celebrated in classrooms across the nation to foster an interest in chemistry.
