Saturday, October 11 – Cub Scout Saturday: Forester

Webelos, investigate the fall forest as you work at completing the requirements for your Forester. Younger scouts can enjoy a nature hike.

Wednesday, October 15 – Tyke Hike: Fall Leaves and Colors

Hey tykes! Grab your parents and join Park Naturalist Mindy Murdock as we hike and explore nature in our backyard. Discover the shapes and colors of fall with activities and a craft.

Meet at the Library for story time fun. Afterwards, we will walk to the Zion Nature Center to explore the lives of squirrels with fun activities.

Saturday, October 18 – Fall Dog Hike

Fall is a great time to explore the park with a furry friend. We’ll appreciate the sights and sounds of the autumn woods while your dog enjoys some socialization. Dogs must be leashed and under owner’s control.

Thursday, October 23 – Citizen Science: Project FeederWatch

Join a citizen science program and make a difference! Project FeederWatch is a winter-long survey of birds that visit feeders at backyards, nature centers and other locales in North America. Participants periodically count the birds they see at their feeders from November through early April. The data they collect help scientists track winter bird populations. Join us to learn more about the program. Project FeederWatch officially begins November 8.

Friday, October 24 – Fall Break Campfire

Enjoy a crisp fall evening around a crackling campfire. Walk through the woods at night to discover who lives there, and then end your evening around the fire. Feel free to bring your own marshmallows and a story or two to share around the fire.
