The Virginia Tech Transportation Institute is seeking participants for a roundabout study, something Carmel residents may know a thing or two about.

Liz Catron, a research coordinator for VTTI, said: “My researchers are traveling to different towns and cities that have a lot of roundabouts, and running a research project on driver and eye glance behavior in these roundabouts. Your city has drawn us in of course because of your roundabouts.”

VTTI researchers will be in Carmel Oct. 8 and Oct. 9. Participants must be 18 years old or older, and must hold a valid drivers license.

To sign up to be a part of the research study, email Catron at [email protected] .

The study involves driving through various roundabouts on public roads while wearing eye-tracking glasses.  The study is expected to last no more than two hours and participants will earn $50 per hour.
