Yesterday, shortly after 4:00pm, Fishers police officers responded to a motor vehicle crash in the 12000 Block of Olio Road. The crash involved a Sport Utility Vehicle and a pedestrian.

Upon their arrival officers located the pedestrian, a juvenile, lying in the roadway near the crosswalk. Paramedics with the Fishers Department of Fire and Emergency Services responded and transported the victim to Riley Children’s Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

According to witnesses and evidence at the scene it appears the pedestrian was crossing Olio Road, in the crosswalk, when he was struck by a northbound SUV. The driver immediately stopped and fully cooperated with the investigation. The juvenile’s mother and siblings were walking with the victim, at the time of the crash, but were not injured.

Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this crash.
