Show synopsis: Successful Long Island businessman Joe Benjamin is a modern-day “Job” with a demanding wife, ungrateful children, and wisecracking household employees. Just when it seems things couldn’t get any worse, he is visited by Sidney Lipton, a messenger from God (and compulsive film buff) with a mission: test Joe’s faith and report back to “the Boss.” The jokes and tests of faith fly fast and furious as Neil Simon spins a contemporary morality tale like no other in this hilarious comedy.

Actors are being sought for the following roles:

Rose Benjamin – (stage age early 50s) Joe’s wife; dripping with diamonds and pearls, but highly neurotic.

David Benjamin – (stage age mid 20s). Joe’s ne’er-do-well son; a college dropout, who is perpetually drunk.

Sarah Benjamin – (stage age teens to early 20s). Joe’s daughter; very sweet, but stupid and nervous like mom.

Ben Benjamin – (stage age teens to early 20s) Joe’s obedient son; as stupid as his sister.

Sidney Lipton – (stage age 47) Unimpressive physically, nearsighted, sarcastic, henpecked, and broke.

Mady – (preferably African-American and middle-aged). A live-in domestic; a smart-mouthed maid, who tells it like it is.

Morris – (preferably African-American and middle-aged). Mady’s husband; a faithful butler, who defers to his wife.
