Enjoy local artistry at Art in Town Hall open May 19 through June 27

Art in Town Hall is returning and bringing an exciting new exhibit to Fishers. Local artist, Judy Ireland, will be featured in “Flights of Spirit: Journeys Real and Imagined Textile and Quilted Art Exhibit” running from May 19 through June 27 at Town Hall. Although the event runs for a few weeks, residents are invited to the open house on Friday, May 23 from 6-9 p.m. in Town Hall, free for those of all ages.

The Art in Town Hall exhibits are one of many ways that Fishers is striving to use public art to strengthen the community through visual celebration and thought provoking experiences that encourage creativity. The Art in Town Hall exhibit serves as the cornerstone for culture in the Nickel Plate District. Talented, local artistry diversifies our town and creates a sense of place in our community.

Textile and mixed media artist, Judy Ireland, learned the stitching arts as a girl. After refining her craft with kits and the use of other people’s patterns, she began to value original personal experience in a high school arts program and throughout her post-secondary education. Having worked in the industry for decades now, Judy remembers the passion she found towards her work, “I loved literally touching the colors in fibers, finding a sort of muse in their positive energy.”

Stay tuned to Fishers Parks & Recreation’s social media pages for a sneak peek into Judy’s work, and plan to attend Art in Town Hall while it is on display.
