The Zionsville Dairy Queen on First Street will soon have a sister competitor nearby.
The company has filed plans to build a 3,336-square-foot “grill and chill” store at 9802 N. Michigan Road in Carmel. The popular ice cream company was started in Illinois more than 70 years ago, and now spans the country with more than 6,000 locations in the U.S. and 18 other countries.
