Staff report

Power has been restored to downtown Carmel after a delivery truck knocked down a power pole and a cluster of power lines, cutting power to the first block of West Main Street.

Crews from Duke Energy, Brighthouse and AT&T worked into the night to restore services.

The outage was caused when a rental truck delivering flowers to Planted, a store just south of the intersection of Main Street and Range Line Road, struck some low-hanging wires in the parking lot behind the business.

The driver of the truck, Joshua Eagle, worked for Cincinnati-based Tri State Foliage. He was not injured in the accident.
