The Noblesville High School New Dimensions Show Choir recently placed third at the ISSMA Women’s Large Division State Show Choir Competition. New Dimensions is led by Michael Douce, show choir director, and Angie Resler, NHS choral director.

“What an honor,” said Douce. “The 42 girls have worked so hard, it’s just amazing.”

Schools from across the state compete at 13 prequalification ISSMA show choir events and the top nine scorers are invited to compete for the ISSMA state finals. To prequalify, NHS’s chose to attend only two prequalification contests, Fishers and Lawrence Central.

“We worked hard on our performance and wanted to compete with the best – that’s why we picked these two qualification events,” Douce said.

At 3 p.m. April 27 all three NHS competitive show choirs are hosting the Ball State University Singers for a special afternoon of song, dance and entertainment in the high school auditorium. The event is being held to raise money for the NHS choral program. Tickets are $10 per person and can be bought online at www.showchoir.eventbrite.com.

Corporate and personal contribution event sponsors also are needed for NHS Choral to host the event. All money raised will be used to provide the necessary annual funding for continuance of the program.
