Breaking: Boone County authorities are confirming an attempted murder/suicide in the Westhaven Apartments of Whitestown, on the border of Zionsville.
According to detective Dennis Anderson of the Whitestown Police Department, a dispute occurred between a Zionsville woman living in a Westhaven apartment and her boyfriend at 8:20 p.m last night.
The male shot the female in an attempted murder and then shot himself with a gun, dying on the scene.
The woman was transported to St. Vincent hospital after sustaining a gun shot injury.
“He was not from this area,” Anderson said. “So we cannot release his name until we hear from next of kin.”
Update: Whitestown police have released the names of those involved in the attempted murder/suicide. Loyad “Kent” Kruckebbry, 53, shot Angie Cantrell, 53, and then proceeded to shoot himself in the head. Kruckebrry was pronounced dead at the scene. Cantrell is still in critical condition.
