The two-time defending boys basketball state champions couldn’t make it out of a tough sectional this year. The Carmel Greyhounds lost 42-50 to the Hamilton Southeastern Royals in the March 8 sectional final. They had beaten North Central 63-52 and Zionsville 47-43 to advance to that point; and they had beaten HSE 55-54 earlier in the season on their home court.

They finished with a final record of 21-2.

The Hounds will lose senior Zach McRoberts to graduation, but the team is young and expect leaders Ryan Cline and Keegan Culp to lead a strong team next year.

And enjoy the photos from the team’s last win of the season – a dominant performance over the Panthers.
