Marian M. Ortiz, 93, of Noblesville, died on Dec. 16, 2013 at her residence. Born Nov. 21, 1920 in Monte Vista, Colo., she was the daughter of Jose Soloman and Ursuleta Mary (Martinez) Manzanares.
She was a longtime resident of Noblesville and has been a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church since 1960. She loved being a house wife and a mother to her children. She was also a seamstress and enjoyed riding horses, being outdoors, fishing and working in her flower gardens.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Louis A. Ortiz; daughters, Shirley (David) Sappenfield, Beverly Head and Doris (Gary) Shaffer; grandchildren, Christopher (Lori) Head, Ashley (Crystal) Head, Michael (Amber) Kemper, David Sappenfield, Lauren Sappenfield and Jaret (Amy) Shaffer; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Tony (Bev) Manzanares; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Dec. 20 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 9900 E. 191st St., with the Rev. Tom Metzger officiating. Burial followed at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
