Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly robbed and carjacked a Westfield resident at his home in the 4400 block of Everest Drive on April 26.

Westfield police officers were dispatched to the Summit Lakes housing addition at 9:01 p.m. WPD Cpt. Charles Hollowell said an adult male victim told police that he arrived home, pulled his vehicle into his driveway and entered his garage. While the garage door was still open, the victim got out of his vehicle and realized that there was a black male standing right outside the garage.

“The victim said the suspect was holding a silver semiautomatic handgun and said, ‘Give me everything!’ The victim advised that he gave the suspect his keys, wallet and cell phone,” Hollowell said.

Then the suspect began searching the inside of the victim’s car. Soon after, the suspect exited the vehicle and entered another vehicle that was also parked in the garage. Hollowell said that vehicle was a black 2008 Honda CR-V with Indiana license plate 139AHP, and an Indiana University vanity plate in the front.

“After entering the CR-V, the suspect drove away with it and all of the other items that the victim had given him. The suspect was reported as driving the CR-V northbound away from the residence,” Hollowell said.

Officials said no one was injured or physically assaulted during this incident.

The suspect was described as an African American male, approximately 5’8” to 5’9” in height with a medium build. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his head at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Westfield Criminal Investigations Division at 804-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 262-8477.
