Zionsville Middle School Advanced Jazz Band wins huge honor – The ZMS Advanced Jazz Band won 1st place at the Ball State Jazz Festival on March 9th. To achieve a first place rating they scored higher than 4 middle schools and 9 high schools. This is a first for ZMS and a first for any jazz band from Zionsville Community Schools. Dominic Rossi was also honored with the “Frank Mantooth Award” for being the most outstanding musician to perform at Ball State during the festival. Zionsville Middle School’s Advanced Jazz Band is under the direction of Josh Weirich and Chris Murray with over 100 students participate in the extra-curricular jazz program at ZMS.
