The ZCS seventh grade, eighth grade and advanced jazz bands will be performing their Spring Concert two Wednesday, May 16. Students should arrive at 6:15 p.m., and the concert will begin at 7 p.m. Students should plan to wear band shirts, khaki pants and nice shoes.
Through a generous donation from the Zionsville Education Foundation, we will be featuring a newly-commissioned work for the eighth grade wind band. This piece, entitled “When They Were Kings”, is a suite in three movements inspired by the famous historical/literary figures Peter the Great I, Louis XIV, and King Arthur.
As part of this collaboration, students have also been busy composing their own works, most through a free online program called NoteFlight. The student works will be showcased in listening stations prior to the concert.
