On March 1, 2012 at approximately 6:45 am the Carmel Police Department responded to a crash in the intersection of US 31 and Carmel Drive. A blue Dodge truck travelling northbound on US 31 collided with a black Chevrolet Trailblazer that was southbound on US 31 attempting to turn eastbound onto Carmel Dr. Witnesses at the scene stated that the Dodge truck ran a red light and struck the Trailblazer. The Carmel Fire Department transported both drivers to Saint Vincent Hospital on 86th Street.
The driver of the Dodge truck, Charles E. Williams a 57 year old male from Indianapolis, was complaining of pain and had some minor cuts.
The driver of the Chevrolet Trailblazer, Michael D. Coleman a 50 year old male from Noblesville, was complaining of back and neck pain.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene of the crash.
