Local authors will showcase their work and sell books at the Carmel Clay Public Library’s annual Local Author Fair, set for 1 to 4 p.m. April 14 in the program room. More than 30 authors from Carmel and surrounding areas will participate.

A variety of authors will attend, including those who write nonfiction, children’s literature, young adult, short stories, romance, science fiction and more, according to CCPL Communications Manager Beth Jenneman.

“The fair offers local and self-published authors a chance to get exposure in the community, and (it offers) readers a chance to explore books that can’t typically be found at a regular bookstore,” Jenneman said. “It’s a unique opportunity to discover something new and different.”

There is no entry fee for the fair. The public can visit authors’ tables, chat with them and peruse their work. Authors look forward to networking at the event, Jenneman said.

“It is a great chance for local authors to meet each other and discuss writing, publishing, reading, research, etc.,” Jenneman said. “The library is the perfect place to host this fair, being the community resource that it is for all things related to reading.”
