Obituary: Serina M. Hickle

Serina M. Hickle, 77, Noblesville, died Oct. 18 at Copper Trace in Westfield. She was born March 19, 1939 to Avery and Marie (Hopper) Myers in Peru, Ind.

Serina was a 1956 graduate of Fowler High School and attended Purdue University. For 20 years, she was an interior decorator, most recently with Calico Corners, retiring in 2009. Serina was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Noblesville and had played piano and organ in several churches since she was a teenager, including First Presbyterian Church of Fowler. Serina was an artist who enjoyed both oil and watercolor painting, sculpting, quilting and cooking. Her passions also included gardening, traveling, taking cruises, crossword puzzles and playing euchre and spoons. Serina’s greatest accomplishment was raising her family whom she loved dearly; she relished the time she spent with them.

She is survived by daughter Dana Serina Hickle (David) Thompson, sons David Duane Milburn and Bryan Wayne Milburn, grandchildren Breana (Wes) Ferrazzi and Caitlin, Carolyn, Meredith and Eric Milburn and brothers Duane and David Myers.

In addition to her parents, Serina was preceded in death by her first husband, H. Wayne Milburn, and her second husband, Daniel J. Hickle.
