The City of Noblesville is looking for a few good men, women or any resident that is willing to volunteer and help make the city’s numerous summer events fun for everyone.

City Spokeswoman Cara Culp said volunteer help is needed this summer for the July 4th parade and fireworks festival, a junior golf championship, various Parks Dept. events, and more.

“Thousands of people enjoy the free summer events in Noblesville, but volunteer assistance is needed in order to continue to make the events possible,” Culp said.

Those that help with the Noblesville Fourth of July events will be entered into the Volunteer Raffle for a chance to win $300, $200, or $100. Also, all July 4th volunteers will receive a free meal at the festival.

“It’s a way to give people another incentive to come out for two hours,” she said.

Culp said volunteers are asked to work two-hour shifts – 3 to 5 p.m. for the parade and 6 to 8 p.m. and 8 to 10 p.m. for the Fireworks Festival.

The majority of jobs involve greeting and assisting people although a few do require heavier lifting. While Noblesville Police officers handle the parade route, Culp said volunteers are needed to help with parade staging. For the Fireworks Festival, Culp said most volunteers will assist with the children’s activities, monitoring the VIP and parking area, helping with the car show or setting up the area.

“It’s nothing too strenuous,” she said. “We’ve added a lot of carnival games. We need volunteers to monitor the games, or we will not have them all.”

Culp said approximately 50 volunteers are needed for Fourth of July activities. All summer volunteers will need to be able to work outdoors.
