The Carmel Clay School Board of Trustees is seeking community input as they search for the new superintendent. All Carmel community members are encouraged to attend one of the Community Forums on March 7, 2103, or take the Leadership Profile Survey.
As part of Phase 1 of the Superintendent Search, the School Board is obtaining feedback from stakeholders through three avenues:
- Differentiated Focus Groups on March 7 and 8 (invitations already sent to participants)
- Two community forums on March 7, 2013
- 7:45 p.m. at Clay Middle School, 5150 East 126th Street
- 7:30 p.m. at Creekside Middle School, 3525 West 126th Street
- Superintendent Leadership Profile Survey (closes on March 5)

Superintendent Search Timeline
The school board has set the following tentative timeline for the superintendent search process:
Phase 1 Community Input for Superintendent Leadership Profile
Feb. 12 – March 5 Superintendent Leadership Profile Survey
March 7 Community Forums at Creekside at 7:30p & Clay at 7:45p
March 7, 8 Focus Groups of stakeholders
Phase 2 Initial Candidate Slate Selection and Review
March 17-24 Slate presented to School Board by BWP & Associates
School Board considers and interviews slate
*Candidates will remain confidential during this process
Phase 3 Final Candidate Slate Selection and Review
March 25-29 Second round of interviews
Phase 4 Site Visits
April 1-12 School Board will visit candidate’s current districts

Dr. Jeff Swensson, who has been with the district for six years, will step down at the end of June, 2013.
