Where to go: Samano’s Taqueria
Address: 14126 Bergen Blvd., Noblesville
What to get: Adrian’s Burrito
Mike G’s take: You can go anywhere to enjoy tacos and burritos, but authentic Mexican food with unique offerings is hard to come by. Samano’s has authentic Mexican food and the environment is nice. I really like that it’s a fast-casual restaurant. My favorite feature is the self-service salsa bar with amazing flavors like jalapeño ranch, guacamole salsa, tomatillo salsa, Guahiho salsa and salsa de la casa.
What I tried: The most popular item is the Adrian’s Burrito, so I had to give it a try. This is a unique creation — a burrito with your choice of chicken, steak, or pork, avocado, chipotle dressing, green pepper, rice, beans and cheese, all wrapped in bacon, then cooked until perfect and crunchy. I washed mine down with a horchata, one of the restaurant’s flavored waters made from jicaro seeds ground with rice and spices, such as cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and maybe some secret ingredients.
Popular menu items: Taco Salad, $7.99 – I saw five people order this massive fried tortilla shell, with your choice of meat topped with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, guacamole and sour cream.
Gringas, $8.99 – Two flour tortillas filled with your choice of meat and cheese. The most popular is the Gringa Especial made with marinated pork, grilled steak, ham, bacon, cheese and pineapple.
Tortas, $9.99 — Sandwiches made with beans, cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomato, onions, mayo and choice of meat and toasted bread.
Tacos and burritos,— You can never go wrong with tacos or burritos with the meat of your choice.
