This menu is for the dogs.

As dog lovers, Carmel restaurant owners Richelle and Kevin “Woody” Rider felt compelled to do something special for their furry, four-legged diners.

“We had a lot more time during the shutdowns, and my wife came up with the idea,” Kevin said of the Bow Wow Menu.

Richelle, a chef, designed a menu for dogs for divvy. Dogs are allowed on the patio of both divvy and Woody’s Library Restaurant, both owned by the Riders, but Woody’s doesn’t yet have a menu. Richelle is in charge of both kitchens.

Proceeds from the sales go to the Humane Society for Hamilton County, with $1,000 already donated, Kevin said.

The Bow Wow Menu items include Crunchers (matchstick carrots, cucumbers and apple slices); Barky Berries (fresh blueberries and strawberries); Protein Picks (grilled New York strip or shredded chicken); Sticky Spoon (filled with peanut butter); and Whippy Cream Cup (traditional milk or vegan coconut).

“The New York strip is really nice,” said Kevin, a Carmel city councilor. “It’s the same one we use on the (regular) menu.”

Before the menu, canine diners received a bone and water.

“My wife wanted to take it to the next step,” Kevin said.

Kevin said Woody’s dog diners are served a bone now but will eventually have a menu.

There is a Wall of Fame featuring the dogs in a divvy hallway.

“Our dogs are up there and every dog that orders food that we get a picture of we add to the Wall of Fame,” Kevin said. “We have dogs that are regulars.”

The Riders have a papillon poodle and shih tzu Yorkie.
