cityhall

The City of Carmel has received $1 million in matching funds through INDOT’s Community Crossings program to make road improvements.

The funds will be used for resurfacing:

The state funds are in addition to $4.5 million in the city’s 2021 budget for resurfacing projects. Carmel must match 50 percent of the funds to receive them.

“We are always pleased when we can bring more of our taxpayers’ dollars back into the community,” Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard stated in a press release. “Resurfacing these roadways using state funds will allow us to use our city tax dollars for other roadway improvements.”

Carmel is among more than 240 Indiana municipalities to receive funds through the Community Crossings program.
