SoHo Café & Gallery will close Dec. 30 after 10 years in operation in Carmel’s Monon Square.

Owner Vivian Lawhead said she and her husband have been considering retirement from the coffee business for a while but that the COVID-19 pandemic confirmed their decision.

“It is our bittersweet decision to close SoHo Café & Gallery as of Dec. 30, 2020 and look forward to a new, healthy year in 2021,” Lawhead stated in a press release. “Oh how we’ll miss the ‘daily grind,’ our employees and our customers!”

After closing the cafe, the Lawhead’s plan to spend more time with their seven grandchildren, traveling the world, and volunteering in the area.

The SoHo to Go coffee truck will remain in operation.

The cafe plans to sell much of its inventory and furniture in January. Schedule an appointment to view the items for sale by calling 317-564-4800.
