The City of Carmel Street Dept. has issued a list of paving projects for the 2020 summer construction season.
Improvements to streets around the city have already begun. Many of the primary thoroughfares will be paved between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m to be less disruptive for drivers. Streets within subdivisions will be paved during regular work hours.
A list of paving projects is below. The list is subject to change depending upon the results of the bid process, the price of oil and other variable factors. The total amount of roadways maintained by the Street Department is more than 460 miles.
The 2020 paving projects are:
- 141st Street from Shelborne Road to Towne Road
- Laura Drive from Jeremy Drive to Lauravista Drive
- Ridge Road from High Drive to Hillcrest Drive
- Hancock Street from Carmel Drive to 126th Street
- Old Meridian Street from Guilford Road to W. Carmel Drive
- Gray Road from Main Street to 146th Street
- Canton Drive from Hazel Dell Parkway to Salem Drive
- Dover Drive from White Hall Way to 146th Street
- Woodfield Drive from Salem Drive to Longstone roundabout
- Shelborne Road from 96th Street to 116th Street
- Illinois Street from W. Carmel Drive to 111th Street
- 116th Street from Springmill Road to U.S. 31
- 116th Street and Keystone Parkway roundabout
- 116th Street from east of West Road to Ditch Road
- Autumn Woods Drive from 146th Street to dead end
- Rolling Springs Drive from Carmel Drive to 116th Street
- Rolling Springs Drive from 116th Street to Lakeshore Drive West
- Chariots Whisper Drive from Mustang Chase to Towne Road
