Hamilton County Community Foundation awards $117,000 to various organizations

The Hamilton County Community Foundation has awarded $117,000 to 13 organizations.

The grants were awarded to nonprofits that focused on mental health, family and youth empowerment and inclusive economic growth. The foundation also awarded multi-year grants to Ivy Tech Community College of Hamilton County and to the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis for the Westfield YMCA that is soon-to-be-built.

Mackenzie Poole, community leadership officer for the foundation, said her organization helps nonprofits deal with an array of community issues.

“What we’re really trying to do is work with the nonprofits to move the needle on certain areas like mental health, family and youth environment, which is basic needs, and inclusive economic growth,” Poole said.
