Darnaé Scales, former director of Family Promise of Greater Indianapolis, gives a speech about his time at the organization and the work he and others did in building the Interfaith Hospitality Network. Churches, mosques and temples that participate in the IHN help by opening their doors to homeless families from across the greater metro area. By utilizing these otherwise unoccupied spaces, homeless families are able to avoid the overcrowded public shelter system, even if just for a night.
