Snapshot: State Auto Insurance moves to Carmel

Former Indiana Secretary of State Ed Simcox recalls how more than 40 years ago he gave Carmel Mayor James Brainard his first job in government as a recent graduate of Butler University. At the time, Brainard was working as a taxi driver in downtown Indianapolis.

The State Auto Insurance grand-opening included a Taste of the Neighborhood buffet featuring food from 14 local restaurants. Jacob Forstall from Grille 39 and Mario Lomeli from Verde wait at their stations to serve associates.

State Auto Insurance Companise celebrated the opening of its new Midwest headquarters at 12900 N. Meridian St. The move from Indianapolis provides upgraded amenities for the 130 employees who will be based in the new office. (Photos by Ben Stout)
