A 1950s-inspired event will return to Zionsville United Methodist Church on Sept. 23. The ZUMC Youth’s annual Car Hop will take place 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in ZUMC’s east parking lot, 9644 Whitestown Rd. in Zionsville. The parking lot will be transformed to resemble the era of drive-ins and poodle skirts. Attendees can hear old tunes, see vintage cars and purchase food and beverages to consume in their car or at an outdoor dining area. Youth group members in poodle skirts and rolled blue jeans will serve burgers, onion rings, root beer floats and more at this annual family friendly event. As ZUMC Youth’s largest fundraiser, proceeds from Car Hop food and beverage sales will contribute to funding for summer camps, mission trips and conferences.
