Obituary: James E. Rennard

James E. Rennard, 84, of Carmel died Feb. 19. He was born in Indianapolis in 1933 to the late Herbert and Dorothy Rennard.

Jim attended Broad Ripple High School and graduated from the University of Cincinnati School of Architecture. He was instrumental in the design of the World’s Largest Christmas Tree on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis.

Jim was a member of Broad Ripple United Methodist Church since 1958. He sang in the Chancel Choir, played in the bell choir, was a member of the Pride of Indy Barbershop Chorus and was a Masonic Mason.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Janeen Anderson Rennard; children; Debra (Mike) Goldsmith, Jim (Angie) Rennard, Jr., David (Carrie) Rennard, Cheryl (Mark) Noll, Ellen (Kenny) Beckman, and Rebecca (Joe) Bitner; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 21 at Broad Ripple United Methodist Church.
