The American Cancer Society held its Bark for Life walk event Oct. 28 in Zionsville. Participants brought their furry friends to walk the trail at Creekside Corporate Park to raise funds and awareness for ACS programs and its fight against cancer. Participants were encouraged to dress up in costume for the Halloween-themed event. “We created this event because cancer doesn’t discriminate between canines and humans or anything like that, so we want them to be able to come to an event and celebrate together for canine survivors and canine caregivers as well as humans,” said Tatijana Marsee, the ACS north central region community development manager.
