Last week, Where’s Amy attended the annual Chaucie’s Place Breakfast at the Ritz Charles. Many local community business owners, staff and friends of Chaucie’s Place came together to support this important cause in honor of Chaucie Quillen. The breakfast included special guest speaker Matt Sandusky, who gave an emotional and inspiring speech about his own personal journey with sexual and mental abuse. Executive Director Dr. Jack Powell also explained the importance of Chaucie’s Place. The nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization opened it’s doors on April 30, 2001 educating both adults and children through prevention and education programs, such as “Smart Steps: A Body Safety Program for Children,” “Stewards of Children,” and “Lifelines.” For more, visit chauciesplace.org.
