Snapshot: Kiwanis place flag in mayor’s yard

CIW COM 0425 Kiwanis1

On April 13, members of the Kiwanis Club kicked off the Avenue of Flags community service project and fundraiser by placing an American flag in front of Mayor Andy Cook’s home. For $50 per year, a 3-by-5- foot American flag on a 10-foot pole will be placed along the curb of participating residences. Kiwanis volunteer teams place and retrieve the flags for specific holidays. There’s no work for homeowners. For more, email westfieldavenueofflags@gmail.com. Pictured, rear from left, veteran Nolan Schmidt, veteran Don Stilts, Mayor Andy Cook, veteran Jeff Nickloy.
