Interactive Academy Gymnastics finishes 3rd at regional meet

Athletes from Interactive Academy Gymnastics recently finished third out of 99 teams at the Level 7 Girls Regional Meet in Shelby Township, Mich., competing at the first Region 5 Level 7 meet. Approximately 400 gymnasts from Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana competed in age level groups.

Interactive Academy top five finishes include a first place by Sarah Hoke of Brownsburg on balance beam, floor exercise and all-around for the Junior 3 age division; first place on uneven bars by Caroline Etter of Zionsville; second place floor exercise by Campbell Stoner of Zionsville; third place finish on floor exercise and fourth place all-around by Halle Vogtman of Zionsville; fourth place on floor exercise and fifth place on balance beam by Julia Dong of Carmel; fourth place on balance beam by Olivia Short of Indianapolis; fourth place on vault by Morgan Mace of Carmel; and fifth place on floor exercise by Jaclyn Copeland of Carmel.

Other members of the team are Ashnaya Gupta of Carmel, Rowan O’Connor of Indianapolis, Gracie Runge of Carmel, Aisling Frost of Lebanon and Avani Gregg of Brownsburg.  The team is led by coaches Eric Phillabaum and Natasha Richards.  Gymnasts qualified for the meet by scoring a 35 or higher at the Indiana state meet March 19 and 20 in Fort Wayne.  The entire team qualified and competed.

Legacy Elite Gymnastics from Illinois was the top placing team, followed by Stars and Stripes Gymnastics from Michigan.
