Obituary: Bernice Sigman

Bernice Sigman, 82, Noblesville, died April 21 at Riverview Health in Noblesville. She was born March 29, 1934 to Theodore and Essie (Hoggard) Brown in Poughkeepsie, Ark.

Bernice graduated from Poughkeepsie High School and married Billie J. Sigman Feb. 28, 1953; her brother, Rev. Ottie Brown, officiated. Bill and Bernice made Noblesville their home, where they shared their lives with family and many friends. She worked in quality control at Best Lock and was a member of Clarksville Christian Church. Bernice joined Eastern Star April 4, 1952. Over the years, she held many offices including three times as Worthy Matron. She also served as Grand Warder as well as Grand Representative of Nebraska in Indiana.

Bernice is survived by her husband, Billie J. Sigman; children, Terri (John) Sigman-Kennedy, Phil (Frances) Sigman and Mike (Karen) Sigman; grandchildren, Derek (Gail) Kennedy, Aimee (Jamey) Dodd, Sara (Johnathon) Hardy, Madison Stiegman, Sadie (Brian) Lupo, Matt Sigman, Dana (Ryan) Wistrom, Joe Stiegman and Trey Legg; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Buster (Jeffie) Brown and Bill (Emma Jean) Brown; and sisters, Eunice McLeod and Betty (John) Carter.

In addition to her parents, her brothers, Ottie Brown, John Brown, and Owen Brown preceded her in death.
