Update February 17, 2016 1:45 p.m.: Police identify a suspect.
Update: At 8:52 a.m. the Boone County Sheriff’s Office responded to a death investigation on Old Hunt Club Road, in Zionsville. Upon arrival, law enforcement officials confirmed the death of an adult female and a young child. At this time we are investigating this as a double homicide. As you can expect a mutli-agency effort is currently underway. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office is assisted by the Zionsville Police Department, Lebanon Police Department, Indiana State Police, Whitestown Police Department, Boone County Emergency Management and the Boone County Coroner’s Office.
“This is a very tragic event,” stated Sheriff Mike Nielsen. “As you can understand, this is a serious matter, and we need to handle it perfectly. We are utilizing multiple agencies to assist with solving this crime and we will exhaust every resource to help investigate this to the fullest.”
