Update as of 11:50 p.m.: One student taken to IU Health North Hospital, three to St, Vincent Carmel, and two to St. Vincent on 86th street. The most critical injury seen at this time is head trauma.

Tonight at approximately 10:15 pm during a performance of “American Pie,” the Westfield High School auditorium stage collapsed.

Police and emergency personnel from Noblesville and Westefield are on the scene, including a helicopter ambulance. So far, two students are considered seriously injured and three more are in critical condition.

Laura Criss, a Noblesville resident, rushed to the scene after hearing of the collapse.

“The thing that brought me down here was they were calling in mass casualty busses, calling in three helicopters and two on standby,” Criss said.

No fatalities are confirmed, however.

A Westfield chiropractor assisting emergency personnel, Graeme VanMatre, has stated that there are many high school kids from the stage that are shaken up but so far he has only seen students with broken bones.

Police and fire officials are expected to release more details within the hour at neighboring Westfield Middle School, however Current can confirm that most of the injuries from the collapse are broken ankles and broken legs.

It is estimated that 30 students were on stage when the stage collapsed during the final scene of “American Pie.” The middle of the stage buckled.

This story will be updated as more details are released.
