Nielsen stated: The people of Boone County have cast their votes and have honored me with the opportunity to be the next Boone County Sheriff. I cannot thank everyone enough for being with me on this 18 month journey. You have stuck by my side and it showed at the polls today. I'm deeply honored and humbled and commit to you that I will continue to serve Boone county with the pride that I have for the last 30 years. Once again, I am deeply humbled and blessed to be presented with this opportunity. Thank you.
