Chamber to host breakfast with Sen. Coats The Fishers Chamber of Commerce will host a breakfast with Indiana Sen. Dan Coats next Tuesday from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the FORUM Conference Center, 11601 Municipal Dr. Reservations are required and may be made through the Fishers Chamber Web site at www.fisherschamber.com, or by phone at 578-0700.

HSE students earn National Scholastic honors – Hamilton Southeastern High School senior Josh Query was recently announced as a young artist award winner in the 2012 National Scholastic Art and Writing Competition. On June 1, Josh will receive “The American Visions and Voices Medal” at the National Scholastic Awards Ceremony on the stage of Carnegie Hall in New York City. An esteemed panel of jurors selected a sculpture Josh created in teacher Bob Gabbert’s Advanced Placement 3-D design class to be among 300 works of art from around the nation for a two-year exhibition in galleries throughout New York City. Other student works earning recognition in the competition are a Gold Key for a short story by Fishers High School junior Nick Vare, and a Silver Key for a print made by Jake Adam while a student at HSE Junior High.

United Way to honor local businesses – United Way of Central Indiana will honor local individuals and companies that give, advocate and volunteer to improve the community at the organization’s annual meeting today at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis. Among those local businesses to be honored for their contributions are: Indiana University Health, Allison Transmission, Inc., UAW Local No. 933, Roche Diagnostics Corporation, St.Vincent Health, Community Health Network and CNO Financial Group.
