Gary Bartunek, co-owner of R E Repair & Remodel LLC., will instruct the workshop from 9 to 10:30 a.m. March 24 at the Stephenson House, 123 S. Eighth St., Noblesville, next to the Judge Stone House. The two structures are soon to become the headquarters of the Nickel Plate Arts, an arts-based community development initiative funded by the Hamilton County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Full construction and restoration of the site has begun, and will be partially open to the public in June.
“The Preservation Alliance encourages homeowners to renovate their original wood windows if possible instead of replacing them,” said Mike Corbett, NPA board member. “Original windows are often made of superior materials; preserving them keeps the historic character of the home intact and is usually less expensive than replacements.”
The workshop is being funded by the NPA and the HCCVB. Reservations are appreciated and can be made at info@noblesvillepreservation.com. For more information, call Elizabeth Boase at 410-3977.
